General Information: There will be a $2 admission fee with free parking available throughout the neighborhood, making this event one of the summer's biggest values. Continuous entertainment will be featured at several stages.

Food is also a major festival attraction with national and local providers of just about every ethnic cuisine imaginable from Asian Egg Rolls to Slovenian Sausage, but don't forget the cotton candy and elephant ears!

The East 185th Street Festival grew out of an annual polka jam session at Tony Petkovsek's Polka Village on East 185th street back in the 1970s. The event first expanded when Walter Jackshaw offered his Chevy dealership lot across the street as a more accommodating location, and the owners of Cebar's Euclid Tavern got the idea to sell food to the musicians and fans.

Today, the festival serves as the major fundraiser for a number of community organizations in North Collinwood, including Northeast Shores. Northeast Shores coordinates the committee that plans the festival, which takes place Thursday through Sunday with the last day of Festival, by tradition, on the first Sunday in August.

The East 185th Street 28th Anniversary Parade
On Sunday, August 6, at 1 p.m., Northeast Shores and the East 185th Street Festival Committee will present the 28th annual East 185th Street Parade, always an exciting event for adults and children alike.

We are asking all parade participants to assemble at Neff Park off Bella Drive at 12:00 noon.

Each year a theme is chosen for the parade. This year's theme is "Don't Rain on My Parade." Units are judged on, and prizes awarded for the use of the theme using criteria such as “Originality,” “Creativity,” and “Appearance.”

This year's parade is possible due to support from Key Bank.
